Ashoka is working to empower people around the world of all ages to be leaders in solving the multitude of problems we face today. We envision an “Everyone a Changemaker World”​ that responds quickly and effectively to social challenges, and where each individual has the freedom, confidence and societal support to address any social problem and self identify as a driver of change. To this end, Ashoka champions the most important new social change ideas and supports the innovators behind them by helping them get started, grow, collaborate and reshape whole systems.

Start Empathy is an initiative that represents an important piece of Ashoka’s larger vision. Start Empathy is a collaboration of social entrepreneurs, educators, parents, and key players in the media, business, and academic sectors working to make empathy as essential as reading and math in early education.
