The participants will discover how the facilitators spent a summer writing and playing with the strategy and how she introduced it. Participants will discover how to leverage AI as a creative tool to enhance their own writing process and ways to introduce it to their learners. \r\nThe session begins with an introduction to generative AI and its applications in education. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of how AI can be used to support creativity and critical thinking. Through hands-on activities, educators will experiment with AI-powered image generation tools and Writing Partners to craft their poetry. By analyzing the generated images, participants will learn how to identify new perspectives, themes, and imagery to enrich their writing.\r\nThe workshop emphasizes the iterative nature of the creative process. Participants will engage in multiple rounds of poetry revision, continuously creating new AI-generated images as catalysts for inspiration and deeper revision. This cyclical approach fosters experimentation, risk-taking, and a deeper understanding of the poetic craft.\r\nThroughout the workshop, participants will reflect on the pedagogical implications of using AI in the classroom. We will discuss strategies for integrating AI into curriculum, assessment, and student projects. \r\nBy the end of the session, educators will have a solid foundation in using AI as a creative tool, practical strategies for incorporating AI into their teaching, and a renewed sense of inspiration for their own writing and their students' creative endeavors.\r\nThis workshop is designed for educators of all levels who are interested in exploring innovative teaching methods and harnessing the power of technology to enhance student learning.
