And when we look at MakerSpaces, the solution may rest right in their names.  How might we transform what we have come to know as MakerSpaces into spaces that meet the social, emotional, physical and vocational needs of student, faculty and community as well?  We'll discuss the various looks of makerspaces in our schools and action steps for amplifying their purpose.  And when we leave, we will have game plans for each of us to evolve the makerspaces in our spheres of influence to stronger agencies for meaningful solutions.","Link":["http:\/\/www.danryder207.com"],"Audience":["All School Levels"],"Practice":"During this session we will build out an organic digital sketchnote based on Ela Ben-Ur's Innovator's Compass framework;  as participants' ideas populate the compass, connections will be made, ideas solidified, and as digital artifact it can be easily shared & used by participants well after our session ends.","Presenter":["Dan Ryder"],"PresenterAffiliation":["Mt Blue High School\/Maine RSU 9"],"PresenterEmail":["danryder207@gmail.com"],"ScheduleSlotID":114,"ScheduleLocationID":9,"SubmitterID":4735,"AdditionalComments":"I'm very keen on having the opportunity to discuss this topic at EduCon in advance of having a similar conversation at SXSWEDU in March.  I would love to use the EduCon conversation as something of a springboard for the SX crowd to work from and find a way to bring the two communities of educators and progressive thinkers together.     I'm also the Education Director of the Success & Innovation Center at Mt. Blue Campus, a combination MakerSpace and social work office.  We are only in our 2nd year and far from having figured out -- I would love to learn from others and see how our model might help them and how their experiences might help us continue to thrive.","LiveChannel":null,"Hashtag":null,"VokleID":null,"RecordingURL":null,"ConferenceID":8}}
