In this workshop, participants will learn how to lay the foundation for creative writing and expression in the classroom, how to implement new structures to promote creative expression, and how to design a creative writing project in order to foster a culture of care in the classroom.
Conversational Practice
For the majority of the session teachers will participate in small group conversations that they will share out with the larger group. At the end, teachers will have time to work independently to design a creative writing project and then will work with a partner to discuss ways to scaffold the final product in way that strengthens student writing and promotes a culture of care in the classroom community.
